Pontiac Engine Cooling.  Article that describes reverse flow (1955-59) and "conventional" cooling.  Describes the differences and provides some theories as to why Pontiac changed from reverse flow to conventional cooling in the 1960 model year.

1956 Speed Record advertisement  A four page advertisement from Pontiac boasting a world speed record.

1956 GM Advertisement  shows the GM station wagons, Chevy, Buick, and a Safari.  Safaris were not delivered as shown with small hubcaps -- full disk were standard equipment.  Front bumper guard is not as delivered.  It appears to be an early production advertisement, perhaps produced when the look of the Safari was not finalized.
